Kamelo at a glance

Kamelo is an iPhone, iPad and Android app for parents of 6 to 11-year-olds, Year 1 to Year 6.
A parent photographs tonight’s homework instructions, spelling list or lesson; Kamelo turns it into about ten minutes of practice on exactly that, with Kamelo, a small chameleon who changes colour.
Kamelo never does the homework for the child or hands over ready-made answers: it has them practise what the teacher set, and the right answer only appears after they have tried.
A parent checks every exercise before the child sees it; the child never chats with an AI, and everything Kamelo says is written in advance.
Reading the photo is done by Anthropic’s Claude AI, with the parent’s consent; the child’s name is masked on the phone before upload and the photo is deleted from the servers within 24 hours.
No ads and no trackers in the child’s space; data is hosted in Paris, in the European Union.
The kinds of practice: weekly spellings, common exception words, times tables (with a Year 4 multiplication tables check mode), number bonds, mental maths, numbers in words, lesson quizzes, poems to learn by heart and vocabulary in another language.
Free: 3 photo scans in the first 14 days, then 1 a month, one child profile, unlimited typing-in. Premium: £7.99 a month or £49.99 a year, up to 3 children, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan.
A session lasts about 10 minutes; no timer by default, no red marks, no leaderboards.
