I’ve forgotten my parent code
On the code screen, tap ‘Forgot your code?'. A check for grown-ups (a multiplication to type in) lets you choose a new code. After three wrong tries, you need to wait 30 seconds.
Kamelo misread the photo
On the checking screen, tap the word to correct it, or delete the exercise. If the handwriting is really hard to read, take the photo again with the page flat, in good light, one page at a time, or tap ‘Type it in by hand’. The ‘Report a problem’ button sends us the result so we can look into it.
I’ve run out of free photos
The free plan includes three photos in the first 14 days, then one a month. The screen tells you when your next photo will be available. Meanwhile, typing-in and replaying exercises already created stay unlimited. Kamelo Premium gives unlimited photos, within fair use (15 a day, 100 a month).
Managing or cancelling your subscription
You manage the subscription where you took it out:
- iPhone and iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Kamelo;
- Android: Google Play › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Kamelo.
The parent space also has a ‘Manage or cancel subscription’ link. For a refund, contact Apple or Google, who take the payment.
Restoring a purchase
In the parent space, go to Subscription › ‘Restore purchases’. Use the same Apple Account or Google account you used for the purchase.
Deleting or exporting your data
In the parent space, go to Settings › Privacy: you can export your family’s data, delete a child’s profile or delete the whole account. You can also write to us and we’ll do it. How long each kind of data is kept is set out in the privacy policy.
The voice doesn’t sound natural
Kamelo currently uses your phone’s own voices. On iPhone, you can download an ‘Enhanced’ voice: Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › English, then choose an English (UK) voice. On Android: Settings › Accessibility › Text-to-speech output. There is a step-by-step guide in Kamelo’s settings.
Kamelo doesn’t know this homework yet
Homework Kamelo doesn’t recognise becomes a task to tick off. You can send it to us from the app, with your consent for that request: that is how we teach Kamelo new exercises. The photo sent with such a request is kept for 30 days, then deleted.
