An iPhone, iPad and Android app for parents of 6 to 11-year-olds. You photograph tonight’s homework diary, spelling list or lesson; Kamelo turns it into about ten minutes of practice on exactly that, with a little chameleon who changes colour with the subject. You check everything before your child sees it.

Year 1 to Year 6. The UK version follows the national curriculum in England: weekly spellings, common exception words, the statutory word lists, times tables and the Year 4 multiplication tables check. Kamelo also exists in French for France and in American English for the US.

No, never. Kamelo has your child practise what the teacher set: he reads out spellings, asks times tables and helps with learning a poem. He doesn’t hand over ready-made answers: the right answer only appears after your child has had a go, so they can correct themselves.

Yes: Kamelo will be on the App Store and Google Play across the UK. Its year groups and built-in word lists follow the national curriculum in England, but it starts from the homework you photograph or type in, so it follows your child’s school rather than a fixed course.

No. The AI is only used to read the photo, on the parent’s side. Kamelo the character only says lines written in advance, and your child never types anything to an AI.

It’s an ‘almost’, never red. Kamelo encourages them, shows the right answer, and the item comes back a little later in the session.

About ten minutes an evening, on homework that has to be done anyway. No timer by default, no ads, no endless loop, and spellings are written on paper. After 8.30pm, Kamelo gets sleepy.

Yes: colour drops to spend on Kamelo’s colours, patterns and accessories, and stickers to collect. Nothing is bought with real money, and a day without practice is never presented as a loss.

No. No advertising, no purchases and no links out of the app. All of that is in the parent space, behind your code.

Once you have confirmed today’s homework, yes: they find it waiting in the child space. They can also practise other lists from the catalogue, without a new photo.

It is cropped on your phone and the name is hidden, then it is read by the AI and deleted from our servers within 24 hours. Only the exercise you confirmed is kept.

Yes, it is built for it, but difficult handwriting can be misread. That’s why you always see what Kamelo understood, with uncertain parts highlighted, before you confirm.

Yes. You type the homework in by hand; typing-in is never limited and works even if you say no to photo reading.

The 7-day trial starts when you choose the annual plan. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you won’t be charged. The App Store or Google Play handles payment and cancellation.

Photos are unlimited with Premium, up to 15 a day and 100 a month, well beyond one family’s homework.

No. Kamelo starts from the homework as it is set: nothing to install and nothing to change for the class.

There is no direct connection. You can photograph the homework diary, or import a screenshot from the school’s app.

Kamelo has a practice mode in the same format: 25 questions, 6 seconds each, on the tables you choose. It is off by default, a parent switches it on, and it is not the official check. See the multiplication tables check.

Kamelo is designed for primary school, Year 1 to Year 6. It isn’t built for secondary school homework.
